Since when are you with Friendsurance?<\/strong><\/p>

I started with Friendsurance in July 2014. So I've been on board for almost seven years \u2013 seven years full of great things and super interesting work.<\/p>

 <\/p>

Where do you currently work \u2013 in the office, in home office, or somewhere else? What do you prefer?<\/strong><\/p>

Currently, I do both. But I prefer working from the office to have direct interaction with my team colleagues. However, I must admit when I work from home we found a great way to have fun and be productive, too.<\/p>

 <\/p>

What is your responsibility at Friendsurance? What is the most interesting part of your job?<\/strong><\/p>

I have a wide and exciting scope of tasks at Friendsurance: As Team Lead of a \"superstar cross-functional\" team, I am responsible for the team members personal development and professional growth. This includes code reviews, personal growth sessions, quarterly OKR planning, and performance reviews every 6 months. It gives me great satisfaction to develop and establish development paths with my teammates. But I also love to work operationally myself. What thrills me the most is to develop and deliver high quality code myself and at Friendsurance I can fulfill this fully and deliver great solutions to our customers. Moreover, I am part of our \"IT on-call rotation\" group including the handling of incidents on several production environments as well as permission management.<\/p>

 <\/p>

What do you like the most about working at Friendsurance?<\/strong><\/p>

What I like the most is the Friendsurance culture (get to know more about it in our Culture Deck)<\/a>. There are many inspiring people with whom I enjoy daily working. Together we develop innovative products using state of the art technologies that have not yet been seen in the insurance sector. In addition, working at Friendsurance offers great learning possibilities.<\/p>

 <\/p>

How did you find your way to the Insurtech space?<\/strong><\/p>

I\u2019d like to think that Insurtech found me. Before joining Friendsurance I knew so little about insurances and now I know a lot, thanks to Friendsurance! It is also never boring as Insurtech introduces innovation all the time. Even now I find myself learning new things quite often.<\/p>

 <\/p>

What do you believe are the most exciting innovations and impactful technologies in the Insurtech space?<\/strong><\/p>

I believe Bancassurance is really fascinating. Most of all I like the ability of Friendsurance to detect customer key life events like having a baby or a move to a new apartment by using a PSD2 compliant analysis of their bank transactions, as a result, we can suggest better insurances to the customer. I am convinced that this kind of data- and AI-driven convenience will have a huge impact on our daily life.<\/p>

 <\/p>

Are you using advanced architectures in the Friendsurance tech team?<\/strong><\/p>

Definitely yes. I am excited to be in the company that runs on the cloud and we can benefit from all the advantages of modern architectures like using serverless technologies or microservices architecture.<\/p>

 <\/p>

How do you prepare yourself for an AI-centric world?<\/strong><\/p>

I am very excited to live in an AI-centric world. AI now gets in every aspect of our life and I am really looking forward to seeing the impact and what kind of problems it will solve. Friendsurance is definitely part of this exciting world.<\/p>
